Joe Franc is a British designer based in Newcastle upon Tyne. Joe studied at Northumbria University and graduated in 2018 with a degree in 3D Design and in 2021 with a Master of Design. His practice is centred around using found and waste material to construct functional furniture and objects. By utilising both domestic and industrial waste, Joe aims to celebrate the details and marks of the materials past. Each piece is dictated by the opportunities presented by the materials, resulting in a diverse body of work. Through the manipulation and repurposing of discarded objects, Joe seeks not only to revalue these materials but also to spark a meaningful conversation about our societal relationship with waste.
